A manager in the firm's Litigation Support and Forensic
Accounting group, Brian works closely with attorneys in the litigation of class-action
securities cases and other financial matters. He provides service to clients in many
ways, including general consulting and research on issues concerning GAAP and GAAS,
the examination of company documents and auditor workpapers, the drafting of expert
reports, and assistance in counsel's preparation for depositions and trial. Most
recently, Brian worked extensively on In re WorldCom, Inc., Securities
Litigation, one of the most high-profile cases ever to go to trial.
Brian joined SMD in 2003 after working as a senior auditor with a Big Five accounting firm, serving both regional and national clients in leasing, real estate and certain Not-for-Profit industries.
Brian graduated Magna Cum Laude from Villanova University, with a BS in both Accountancy and Business Administration majoring in Finance. He is a volunteer for the American Cancer Society's annual Relay for Life, as well as with PennEnvironment, a Philadelphia-based organization focused upon environmental concerns.
